TREND – the Jam Sessions by John "Stoney" Cannon
Acoustically charged and powerfully perceptive, “the jam sessions” by acoustic duo TREND is a flavorful mix of 90’s alternative rock with hints of world music and cabaret. The songs of TREND could probably find a nice home somewhere between Days of the New and modern era Chili Peppers. Not a bad place to put your bed. While the underlying sounds may be second generation singer-songwriter Jason Peck provides a comforter all his own to gives the songs warmth and meaning.

“Far Away From Here” is an uplifting piece that is easily the stand out track among a disc of stand out tracks. Chris Boykins’ strummy energy is the perfect match for Peck’s vocal melodies providing at times an almost latin quality.

While the standard nine tracks found here are a great indication of where TREND are headed, one has to wonder what they were thinking with the additional four “hidden” tracks. One great seven minute plus track, two six second pieces of silence and finally a minute plus of noise.
