JEM-A-NI LL-Congratulations on the Masters Massacre victory.
Ike-Thanks, we appreciate it!

LL-How did you feel the other bands in the Massacre performed?
Ike-Everybody ripped the hell out of the show!!! I really liked Youth @ Risk, False Sight, & Final Darkness, though.
Sonny-I wish Cycle had been there...That Goddman Tim!!!

LL-A lot of people are looking to Jemani as the band that could finally open the doors for other lokal bands to get noticed on a larger scale. What do you think about that and does it add any pressure to perform at a higher level?
Ike-Do they really feel that way? I know there's a good number of people feeling our style, but I'm still waiting for those HUGE "DieAgnostic" crowds to show up for the shows.
Jim-As far as the pressure goes...as a band, we're always gonna perform at the highest level possible.
Ike-Yeah, I think WE apply more pressure than ANYBODY!!!
Jordan-Cause we love the MUSIC.
Jason-Hey..when I play "Dee"...Ohh damn...dunt. dunt. dunt. dunt.
Ike-See?

LL- What other band in Augusta do you feel might have the tools to jump to the next level?
Ike-All of 'em...well...Some..maybe quicker than others, but all of the lokal bands, have a vibe. I think Youth @ Risk has the showmanship down. But really it doesn't matter what I think. It's all gonna come down to some college intern that doesn't know jack shit about music anyway!!!
Dale-Anybody that puts their heart into it and sticks to it!!
Sonny-Everybody has the tools...
Jim-Tool is pretty cool.
Ike-It just depends what they build with em.
Sonny-Everybody has the talent, they just have to take it and do something with it.

LL-It's been mentioned that "Cyborg Jesus" will be rerecorded and released in new for. Is that true and what are the reasons behind this move?
Ike-Yeah..we're re-recording some of the songs from the first CD, but...we're a different group than we we're when we started. We still have the same FUNK BOUNCE and the HEAVINESS, but we've lost a DJ, and gained a drummer, another vocalist, and a bass player. If you like us now, the new stuff is gonna be like....DAMNNN!!!
Dale-Change is inevitable.
Sonny-It won't be the old CD repeated, but some of the songs will be on there..
Jim-Bigger better faster.
Sonny-It'll still be US.

LL-Will there be any "bonus" tracks on the rerelease?
Dale-Let it play and find out.
Jason-That's why it's called a "HIDDEN TRACK"...flip it over Ike-Whatever it is, it's only gonna be available online, limited copies at shows, but ONLINE will be the shit!!! BUY IT!!! I am sooo tired of hearing how some sorry ass band in West Bumblefuck sold a bazillion copies over the internet, because of local support, or a strong fan base. SUPPORT....It's cool to say we're a kick ass band, but the support is what's gonna get us a deal, that can bring attention to this area.
Jemani-Yeah.
Sonny-What they said.

LL-Tell us a little bit about how Jemani was created.
Ike-We were the rejects from area bands.
Dale-Fixt, Obscure, Overdose, Cycle...,
Ike-We were the members that wanted to go to rehearsal..while the other members cancelled...I think we all just got fed up with the BS at the same time.
Jim-Hey this was my first band..other than High School, or the shit me and Sonny never flew off with.. I din't know any of these motherfuckas when I was in school..
Ike-WHEN HE WENT!!!
Dale-I owe my place in this band to SONNY, If it wasn't for being friends with him, Ike would have never known about me, or probably even considered a keyboard player.
Jim-Me, THREE...SONNY WALL...
Ike-Yeah, Sonny's ass was like a recruiter..Sonny was wandering through BEST BUY, asking people at random if they knew anybody that knew how to do music...He ran into someone I knew, and they called me on my cell phone. I was at home on the toilet talking to Sonny's ass. He came over the next day, and within two days we had "Don't Know Shit". Then he brought Dale, Jim, Jason...Jordan just popped the fuck up, he actually answered an ad, I don't remember placing, and called me up "Hey man, need a drummer?"

LL-Did musical influences have a hand in the band personnel?
Ike-No, actually, we were blessed to find people that fit into what we we're trying to do.
Sonny-We all have different favorites...but we can appreciate everything..my main shit is the straight heavy shit...and HIP HOP...Ike is straight up Hip Hop....Jason is a Misfits reject.
Jason-And livin' on SKID ROW.
Dale-You know how they have a Man's Man...Jason's a MISFITS misfit.
Ike-We love em, though.
Dale-My influences have a hand in making me want to be a better musician.

LL-How would you decribe the music that Jemani makes?
Ike) Music.
(Sonny laughs)
It's Heavy...It's Hip Hop...It's Funk...It's Melody, now. It's gonna be everything!!!!
Dale-Universal..no...GALACTIC!!!

LL-Aside from the rerelease, what are the plans for a completely new dic in the future?
Ike-I like the DIC I have.
Dale-I like mine too....a lot.
Jim-Mines been good to them (females)...no need for change.
Jordan-Mine could be a little BIGGER.
Sonny-Hey look at mine....
Jason-You have to see my shit in the right light...I'm hung like shlung.

LL-And finally, any upcoming shows?
Ike-May 5th Orwell's - w/ DieAgnostic..Maybe something at BUTLER HIGH sometime in June, and the record company showcase in New York the 29th of June!!!! keep an eye out on www.jemani.com Oh yeah..the LOCKDOWN is coming...we're in the studio now, so give us a minute. Peace
