UU AUGUSTA ACOUSTIC CAFE SERIES RETURNS JANUARY 29TH January 01, 2016 Nearly a decade after the Common Ground Series debuted in December 2006 with late Augusta singer/songwriter Edmond "Lurch" Kida, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta on Walton Way rekindles the acoustic music and coffee formula with the Aoustic Cafe Series beginning this month. On January 29th five area artists will present the first of several bi-monthly concerts featuring acoustic music, coffee, and breaks for refreshments. This first event, presented in cooperation with the UU Church of Aiken, will welcome folk artists Cathy Benedetto, Sam Dack, and Douglas Oxford, Americana/rock singer/songwriter John "Stoney" Cannon, and modern Christian rock artist Michael James. Future events will include National folk band Otter Creek, award-winning duo She N She, and singer/songwriters, Will McCranie, Jacob Beltz, and Jerod Gay.
