SHARON JONES TAPPED FOR HALL & OATES TOUR

The second biggest selling music duo of all time, Hall & Oates, are hitting the road this summer and Augusta soul artist SHARON JONES and her band the Dap Kings have been tapped to help warm up the stage with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue. Jones is known for classic soul style, lending her backing band to Amy Winehouse, and more recently showing up in a documentary for fellow Daptone Records labelmate Charles Bradley entitled Soul of America.

With a combined 18 albums together and sales of an estimated 40 million, Daryl Hall and John Oates met in their hometown of Philadelphia in the late sixties and since the seventies have been a hit making machine including top 40 hits “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” “Maneater,” “Kiss on My List,” “Private Eyes,” “Rich Girl,” “Out of Touch,” and “You Make My Dreams.”

Since their 2002 Daptone debut Dap Dippin' with Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Jones and her band have released seven albums the most recent being It's a Holiday Soul Party.

The tour hits Atlanta's Lakewood Ampitheatre on May 19th.
