HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAURENCE FISHBURNE!

On this day in 1961 actor, playwright, director, producer Laurence Fishburne is born in Augusta. Best known for playing Morpheus in The Matrix trilogy, Jason "Furious" Styles in the 1991 film Boyz n the Hood and Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller in the 1979 war film Apocalypse Now, Fishburne went on to become the first African American to play Othello in a motion picture as well as win Tony and Emmy awards.

Fishburne also played musician Ike Turner is Tina Turner biopic "What's Love Got to Do with It."
