LOST BOY "GROWING PAIN" RELEASE
JANUARY 28, 2016 / BY STONEY

January 28, 2016

Originally released mid 2013, "Growing Pains" by CSRA power pop group LOST BOY has been remastered and is set to be re-released on cassette by Heads Up Records and Genius Factory Records at a special show at new Iron Heights venue on February 20th. Lost Boy is scheduled to perform with Bodysnatcher, Second Death, Fkmt, Alright, and more. The release continues a decade trend of high-energy area acts harkening back to Estrela and including popular bands like Veara and Say Vandelay.

Kicking off with "Plaza Place", a slow building track that kicks into an angst-filled blast of energy topped with sing-a-long break, "Growing Pains" is a fast-paced package of great catchy tunes. Despite the longest song clocking in barely over 2 and a half minutes, not a single track comes off as too short or incomplete. Even closer "Glenn Ave.", which falls in just under two minutes, manages to rock to a fullness many times not heard in compositions of such short stature.

While Lost Boy fills each track on this platter with plenty of energy and twists and turns, it's when the band drops gears with a concentration on a smattering of melody like on standout tracks "Little Rock" and "McKenzie St." (perhaps the best track on "Growing Pains") that the overall scope of Lost Boy's sound is truly evident.

If Lost Boy rocks these tracks live like they do on this release, then their show February 20th should not only be a chance to see a great area band live and pick up a cool lokal release, but also check out a new venue that is getting great public response!
